MRC Türkiye was appointed by various EDCos to perform Power Distribution Network Development Plan proposing MV level network investments in 10 years period. NDPs include the analysis of the existing distribution grid and assessment of short-medium term development requirement each of which are justified by expected benefits in addition to approximate investment budget. Providing standard investment justification such as renewal, rehabilitation or expansion, scope of NDPs also differs considering regional EDCo specific issues such as reliability, technical and/or commercial loss, inadequacy of transmission system, effects of distributed energy sources (DERs).
Engineering services provided under NDPs are given below:
- Coordination of MV Network and Meter Data Collection and Data Validation
- Digital Network Modelling on Power System Simulation Software (DigSilent, NEPLAN, CYME, Sincal)
- Basic Power System Analysis (power flow and N-1 contingency) and Assessment of Existing or Probable Bottlenecks
- Advanced Power System Analysis (Time-Based Technical Loss Analysis through Load Profiles, Integration of DERs, Reliability, etc.)
- Spatial Demand Forecast, Derivation of 10 Years’ Demand Points
- Technical and Economic Feasibility Analysis of the Distribution Facilities
- Distribution System Planning
- Embedded Generation Integration (Modelling, Analysis, Assessment of Optimum Grid Connection, Grid Reinforcement for DER Integration)
- Cost-Benefit Analysis and Prioritization of Network Investments
- Capacity Building in Client’s Office
- Preparation of Official CAPEX Justification Reports
