Currently Yıldız Durukan is the Director for Distribution and Transmission projects of MRC Turkey in Ankara/TURKEY.
She is an electrical engineer involved in the transmission networks operation and planning studies. She is also experienced in the interconnection projects studies, tests, preparing synchronization the relevant electrical power systems.
As part of these commitments she achieved an intensive experience in coordination with stakeholders of the energy sector, including high level officers of utilities, relevant TSOs experts, universities, manufacturers, power plants owners, big industrial customers.
She holds BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Middle East Technical University
Prior to hold Transmission Director position in MRC Turkey, she worked as a manager of Europe Transmission Coordination Division in Load Dispatching Department of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation. One of her duties in this position is to chairing “the UCTE(Union Coordination Transmission Electricity for Continental Europe) Connection Turkish Working Group” composed with TEİAŞ(Turkish TSO and Market Operator), EÜAŞ(State Generation Corporation) and Energy Affair General Management of MENR(Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources) experts on load dispatching, metering, protection, communication, automation, thermal and Hydraulic Power Plants and Power System Analyses.
