TurSEFF-II is 265-million-dollar credit line that is reserved for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy projects. 4 local banks (İş Bankası, Yapı Kredi, Vakıfbank, Denizbank) have been providing commercial loans under favor of EBRD’s credit line (2014 – 2018).
TurSEFF II is the second credit line developed by the EBRD under the Türkiye Sustainable Energy Financing Facility program. The facility took the form of a framework operation of up to USD 200 million under which credit lines were provided by EBRD to some participating banks in Türkiye for on-lending to (i) commercial energy efficiency investments; (ii) stand-alone small scale renewable energy investments; (iii) buildings sector energy efficiency and renewable energy investments; (iv) energy efficiency and renewable energy in the residential sector; and (v) investment loans for eligible manufacturers, suppliers and installers of energy efficiency and renewable energy technology, equipment and materials.
In this context, MRC worked as ex-post Monitoring Consultant for the EBRD, to ensure that the objectives of the TURSEFF II were met by checking and confirming that sub-projects were completed in accordance with the relevant investment plans and were on track to achieve the planned energy savings.
